Fazal Wadood
Born in Malakand, North West Pakistan, I studied at prestigious university Public School Peshawar. In 1992, I moved south to join Pakistan Marine Academy where I learnt sea skills for two years and, after completing my bachelor’s degree in 1994, I boarded my first ship as a Deck Cadet in national flag carrier, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation.
After completing my cadetship, I decided to do my Second mate’s CoC at the Australian Maritime College and completed advanced Diploma in Applied sciences in May1998.
In March 2001, I received an offer to sail on oil tankers from Shell Shipping and Trading, London (STASCO) and I continue sailing on tankers.
In 2003, I passed my HND in Nautical studies from Black and Fylde College, Fleetwood and Class II Chief Mate (unlimited) CoC from MCA.
To further my career and enhance my maritime knowledge, I decided to take a degree programme in Maritime Operations and, in 2006, Liverpool John Moores University awarded me with an MSc degree.
Before joining the NAFC Marine Centre, I sailed on various types of ships and offshore supply vessels with PNSC, Shell, Halliburton and Esnaad Marine.
In July 2008, I got an offer from NAFC Marine centre and joined here in Feb 2009 as a Lecturer in Nautical Studies.
